Winchester Procurement is
based in Winchester, Hampshire, in southern England. We provide procurement
and procurement consultancy services to development projects of all sizes,
wherever in the world they are needed. Our senior management team has
extensive connections and experience of projects throughout the developing
world, while back home we are proud of our tightly-run administration based
on a networked, computerised ordering and database system which constantly
monitors the work we do for our clients.
Procurement is a competitive
field, where short-term profits and corner-cutting are regrettably the
prime concern of some companies. This is not our way. We are competitive of
course, but we mean to be efficient too. Our service covers the full
procurement process from receiving the initial enquiry, advising prices,
ordering goods on behalf of clients and arranging for pre-finance and
inspection if required. We also organise packing and shipment to site,
providing the correct documentation to ensure trouble-free clearance on
arrival.
Sometimes, despite
adequate funding and sound management, project teams find goods and
services difficult to obtain, leading to a delay in the procurement process
and a consequent delay in project start-up and implementation. Costly
project management time is spent progressing overseas suppliers, instead of
getting on with the project itself.

Our experience and
concern for our customers' objectives ensure that project management time
is spent efficiently on those subjects that project specialists have been
trained to handle. If a procurement problem is encountered, Winchester
Procurement looks for a solution. Like all efficient and successful
businesses, we regard a problem as a challenge. Finding a solution is, for
us, an essential part of our service. We take pride in doing it well.
All nations strive to
improve their status. Developing countries in particular are constantly
seeking higher standards of efficiency in industry, agriculture, commerce,
welfare, education and many other fields.
Often the goods or
services they need for development projects will be obtained from outside
their own country. Funding for these projects comes from various sources.
The World Bank, the European Union, the various United Nations agencies and
government-sponsored organisations within most of the industrialised
nations all support projects in the developing world. Increasingly, private
companies are investing in developing countries and the work of relief
agencies, particularly at times of crisis, is well known.
Winchester Procurement
is the essential link in getting the right project requirements to the
right destination, at the right time . . . and for the right price
