Workshop tools and equipment. It’s all in our database and we aim to provide all these items without compromising quality or competitiveness.

Agriculture

The Agricultural Sector is where we started and it is probably the single most important sector within the markets we work. In Africa, a continent of abundance where many children go to bed hungry every night, efficient control of the Agricultural sector is critical. Agriculture provides food, medicines, employment and foreign exchange and we’ve been at the heart of it for many years. We’ve supplied most items from planting stock to tractors, seed, fertilizer, irrigation equipment, pumps and spares, silos for grain and sacks for tea. Agribusiness is a growing business, if you’ll pardon the pun and requires hundreds of inputs from soil preparation to the packaging of the end product. We’ve even supplied equipment to a plantation for a power station that runs on the waste residue of its harvested crop, We’ve supplied processing equipment for rose petals to extract the essential oils in Tanzania and handling equipment for West Indian bananas. Our supply has not always been restricted to machinery or plants. We’ve also supplied thousands of fertile hens’ eggs to incubators in broiler farms in Nigeria and once we airfreighted a herd of pigs to a farm in East Africa.

Port Authorities

Winchester Procurement supplies to numerous Port Authorities in Africa and the Middle East and delivers goods to their unique requirements. Whether it is an urgent requirements for parts or container loads of tyres for their forklifts, we can provide a personalised service which suits our clients’ needs. Port Authority contracts are pressurised work and success is calculated on the amount of tonnage that crosses the ships’ rail. The handling equipment must keep working to achieve their targets and we have the supply contacts to ensure that the urgent maintenance equipment arrives on time and allows these targets to be met.

Utilities

We have long experience in assisting Utility Companies to keep the water flowing and the lights burning. We recently carried out a consultancy to assess the upgrading of the electrical supply in a West African capital. This required a six week survey, seminars with stakeholders, preparation of tender documents and full specifications to be prepared for such items as overhead cable, underground cable, transformers, ring main units, electricity meters, transmission poles and insulators and many other associated items. We also work with Utility Companies in the Hurricane belt of the West Indies where replacement of electricity lines is a yearly necessity following a battering by high winds. All items involved with the collection, storage, purification and distribution of water for Townships have also been procured by us.

Other Industries

These are the main industries we serve but we have also been heavily involved with the Health and Road Sectors and more recently have supplied various items of equipment into the Cement Manufacturing Industry in Africa. Whatever your project or the area you work in you will find a knowledgeable reception when you contact Winchester Procurement Ltd. Please send us any questions or enquiries and we will do our best to prove to you that we really do go the extra mile for our clients.
